About Theresa Gagnon
CVT, BS, LMT
While animals have always been her passion and she has owned dogs, cats and
horses from a very young age, Theresa began working professionally as a
veterinary technician in 1992, working primarily with small animals. She is a
Certified Veterinary Technician in MA and has taught at the college level in a
Veterinary Technology Program. Theresa is certified in animal massage and a
licensed (human) massage therapist.

Massage and energy work have always interested her as well. She witnessed first
hand the benefit of equine massage when one of her horses had a lameness
problem that was resolved with the application of massage. After studying with
Jack Meagher
starting in 1987, she started to use the massage skills on horses
in training. Many of the "training problems" such as refusals and inability to take
the correct lead disappeared.

She added Reiki certification to her list of skills and veterinarians she worked with
started to request that she restrain animals for them because the animals would
relax when she put her hands on them. In 2000 she became certified in Equine
massage and has been massaging horses ever since. She has worked as an
assistant horse trainer using massage and energy skills to help horses do their
jobs better.

It seemed like a natural transition for Theresa to transfer her skills to small
animals, since they are athletes, too. She regularly massages dogs at agility
events. Theresa is Director of the Animal Program at the Bancroft School of
Massage Therapy, teaches in the program and schedules continuing education
programs at Doggone U. She is trained in CranioSacral Fascial Therapy,
Repetitive Use Injury Therapy, Equine Natural Movement (Structural Integration),
and is a Reiki II practitioner.

Theresa has now developed
Facilitated Movement (tm), a healing modality that
encompasses numerous healing techniques.
